West Virginia Continues to Improve its Tax Ranking

That’s a far better ranking than in past years, or even decades.

The Tax Foundation ranking of West Virginia was based on comparing each state’s tax structure. The study, State Business Tax Climate Index, examined more than 100 tax variables in five categories — property, individual income, corporation, sales and unemployment insurance.

In a press release, the Tax Foundation’s economist and manager of state projects said that with bickering by elected officials in Washington causing gridlock at the national level, states are “doing their part and it’s time for Washington to step up.”
