W.Va. Health Officials Concerned about Medicaid Cuts in House’s Budget Bill

WCHS – The U.S. House of Representatives passed a budget bill early Thursday morning that included about $700 billion in cuts to Medicaid. Medicaid provides health care coverage for about a third of West Virginians.

In response, Protect Our Care West Virginia hosted a virtual press conference Thursday where health officials expressed concerns about what these cuts could mean in West Virginia.

Dr. Ron Stollings, a former state senator and current Boone County doctor, joined Milan Pushkar Health Right executive director Laura Jones and others to share similar concerns about thousands of West Virginians potentially losing health care.
