The protest aimed to show their concerns about the proposed cuts to SNAP and Medicaid in the Federal Budget Reconciliation Bill. Protestor Lyn May said she knows first hand how important access to Medicaid can be.
“It’s important because I’m an able-bodied person that has the privilege of being able to do something like this,” May said. “I, in 2019, gave birth to a medically-fragile child who received, and also myself, received in excess of a million dollars worth of care that was all covered by Medicaid.”
