New work reporting requirements and increased eligibility checks were just some of the measures set forth by President Trump’s ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ act. Policy experts said the more stringent guidelines could create access issues for millions of Medicaid policyholders.
“For people who lose their access to health coverage, I think it will have a devastating effect,” said Rhonda Rogombe with the West Virginia Center on Budget and Policy. “Because many people struggle to get Medicaid coverage in the first place and losing it and then having to try to find their way back can prove very difficult.”
