Rhonda Rogombe, health policy analyst with the West Virginia Center on Budget and Policy, went over some of the challenges residents face when it comes to health outcomes.
“We know that West Virginia has some of the highest rates of preexisiting conditions and chronic health issues,” she said. “Health outcomes in West Virginia don’t look great, and there are a lot of factors contributing to that like poverty. There are unfortunately a lot of health disparities that are preventable.”
