“Here’s where I am. I voted 13 times to open up the government quite simply so that we can continue to pay everybody. There’s a real simple solution here. Open the government.”
Appearing on Panhandle Live Wednesday, Capito talked about the toll the shutdown is taking on every day Americans, noting that some federal employees have missed at least one paycheck even while many are still on the job. “It is impacting people in West Virginia and across the nation and, and we know that there’s some deadlines here in the next four or five days that are really going to be critical for people and in particularly in the SNAP benefit.”
