Community Panel to Address Food Insecurity and Changes to SNAP Benefits in Preston County (West Virginia)

Preston County News and Journal – The Concerned Citizens of Preston County and Neighbors have announced a panel discussion and Q&A to address food insecurity and challenges related to SNAP benefits and local food pantries.

The discussion, which is open to the public, will cover a variety of topics, including an overview of local statistics, the impact on SNAP, overwhelmed food pantries, the effects of tariffs, and how the community can help.

The event will also feature several speakers, including Mindy Holcomb of the WV Citizen Action Group; Kelly Allen of the WV Center on Budget and Policy; Tammy Laney of Food for Preston and All Things Possible Community Outreach; and Caitlin Cook, Director of Advocacy at Mountaineer Food Bank, among others.
