A Layman’s View: Looking for Answers

The Martinsburg Journal recently ran a letter to the editor titled “Systemic racism does not exist.” A member of our team, Quenton, responded, and his words struck a chord with one of the outlet’s staff writers as he grappled with the recent murder of Jacob Blake. He reached out to Quenton to discuss both his response letter and the state of racism today in our country. Read the full article.

While Quenton was not acting on behalf of WVCBP when he submitted his response, we wholeheartedly agree with his message. Systemic racism exists and has plagued the US since its inception. It is a gift to have members of our staff who fight for what is right even when the workday comes to a close.
