In a conference call Tuesday, Brian Peterson, an attorney with Bowles Rice and a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment Group, said the bill could have an unintended effect on overtime exemptions in the state.
But House of Delegates Speaker Tim Miley questioned the timing of Peterson’s announcement, especially now that the legislation has passed both the House and the Senate.
