W.Va. Senate Creates New Income Tax Elimination Bill Adding New Taxes

It adds $800-900 million in tax increases, raising the sales tax to 8.5% and reestablishing a 2.5% food tax.

“It could be a huge economic stimulus for our state, a huge spur of population growth over the years to come. I think the timing is right.” Sen. Mike Maroney, R-Marshall, said.
