King v. Burwell Ruling Could Have Major Impact on W.Va.

But a ruling in favor of the plaintiff could cause considerable disruption in West Virginia and across the United States, according to policy analysts.

In short, the plaintiff in King v. Burwell asserts that the Internal Revenue Service cannot offer tax credits to those insured through federally run health care exchanges due to specific wording in the Affordable Care Act that appears to say the tax credits can only be offered through exchanges set up by states.
