Harrison County, West Virginia, Officials Review Potential Impacts of Amendment 2

Amendment 2, also known as the Property Tax Modernization Amendment, would eliminate the constitutional protection of property taxes on business machinery, equipment and inventory and on personal motor vehicles, thus giving the Legislature the authority to eliminate these taxes through the normal legislative process. 

Property taxes in West Virginia largely fund local boards of education, counties and municipalities, with a fraction going to the state.
